In a developing economy like the Philippines, resources are few and far between to embark on private businesses. What is left for the able – bodied and competent is to try their luck and seek employment among available enterprises. To those who successfully land a job, keeping it and excelling within the confines of established corporate norms pose a challenge.(Statistics have it that fresh graduates have a very short shelf life on their first jobs. The “restraining atmosphere” of employment has been cited as one of the reasons.) But there are those who have accepted the stringent rules of employment and still manage to churn out meaningful contributions. Their recognition is in order.

TOYEMM 2011 abbreviates Ten Outstanding Young Employees of Metro Manila. It is an annual search for the metropolis’ outstanding youth in the workplace. Its genesis was a solid 11 years quest conducted in Marikina City from 2000 – 2010. TOYEMM 2011 now embraces Metro Manila’s 17 cities and municipalities.

There are ten (10) industries/sectors where young employees (permanent, part-time or contractual) may come from and be nominated: manufacturing, religious/civic/non-profit organizations, academe, small and medium scale enterprises, groceries/supermarkets/malls, publishing/printing/communication, food service, medical/healthcare enterprises, government service and banking/financial services.

A nominee must be between 18- 30 years old at the time of the nomination. The nomination form must be duly-accomplished, signed by the nominee and a representative of the nominating organization/company/institution. The nomination form must be submitted on or before the prescribed deadline together with all the required documents.

Nominees shall make themselves available for the screening, interview, and final interview stages of the quest. They are also required to be present at the “Gabi ng Parangal” awards night.
